Enough to prove that our politicians are not the answers to our problems. Rather, they are the problem in themselves.

If we could only change certain things in our democratic and political system, a sea-change can be ensured:

Matriculation shud b the minimum qualification to earn voting rights. A graduate's vote should be counted as 10 votes and a Ph.D.'s vote should be equal to 100 votes of simple matriculates. Once this is done, the politicians would
address themselves to literate while seeking votes. The educated people, who do not go to polls would be more inclined to exercise their right to vote. Only sensible promises would be made by the candidates. Voters won't be selling their votes for Rs.2/-. Instances of distribution of desi tharra (locally made alcohol) to gain votes en masse would be less heard of.

Secondly, only those who can clear the preliminary exam of PCS / IAS should be allowed to fight an election. An IAS / PCS officer has to obey the orders of their political masters so it is only logical that the political master should be atleast as much knowledgeable as his IAS / PCS secretary.
