An Auditorium and a Memorial to “Ayo Gorkhali” approved

Mr. Tarun Vijay, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha from Uttarakhand was warmly greeted and felicitated by the most reputed Gorkha Social Organisation Gorkhali Sudhar Sabha (established in 1934).  The President of Gorkhali Sudhar Sabha, Col. P.S. Chhetri (retd.) presented a traditional Bejewelled Khukri- the traditional lethal weapon of the Charging Gorkha to Shri Tarun Vijay and said that he is the first M.P. to give Rs. 2 crores for erecting a grand war memorial to the warriors of the State and also he has  agreed to have an auditorium for Gorkhali Sudhar Sabha.  In his acceptance speech, Shri Tarun Vijay said that the Gorkhas are synonymous  with valour and victory.   Wherever Gorkha soldiers strike,  victory follows them.  He announced Rupees Ten Lakhs from MPLADS funds to build an auditorium for Gorkhali Sudhar Sabha.  He also announced a massive “the Great Soldier Gate” at the entry point to the cantt. area. of Dehradun and a memorial to the Gorkha soldiers-“Ayo Gorkhali” in commemoration of the completion of 100 years of Gorkha Regiment in Dehradun.
