Pokaran 2 anniversary-Vajpayee’s defence empowerment vision must guide the nation.

On the occasion of 13th anniversary of Pokaran -2, which was a result of a meticulously planed Operation Shakti, to make’ Buddha smile’, Shri Tarun Vijay, MP and national spokesperson, BJP said that Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s spirit to empower nation’s defence capabilities in spite of all hurdles and sanctions of the western world, still shows the path to combat terrorism and the belligerent attitude of nuclear powered neighbors.

Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee had shown the world that national interest comes first and unless we are focussed to strengthen national security, neither the world would respect us nor we would be able to secure peace and generate self confidence to deal with mischievous elements in our neighborhood.

Shri Tarun Vijay said that while Vajpayee era is known for the enhancement of nation’s power and glory as well as honouring the soldiers, the UPA not only has ignored the Pokaran 2 day but nation’s defence preparedness has weakened under Sonia-Manmohan Singh governance.
