Question China's sovereignty on a non-autonomous Tibet, invite Taiwan to strengthen relations - says Kanwal Sibal, former foreign secretary

Increase India's firepower to counter Chinese threat-war can't be ruled out- Brig Gurmeet Kanwal, Director, CLAWS

Former Foreign Secretary, Mr. Kanwal Sibal said that on Chinese front we must learn to react like a Tiger, not to kill but to defend ourselves atleast. Mr. Kanwal Sibal was speaking at a discussion “Tiger v/s Dragon: Prelude to a Showdown?” at the India International Centre Annexe, organized by the Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee Research Foundation. This discussion attracted a large number of diplomats, scholars with participants from politics, academics and army.

“We should increase strategically relations with Taiwan and also persuade China to talk with Dalai Lama on the issue of Tibbet”, Mr. Kanwal Sibal said and added thatIndia has recognised an autonomous Tibet as part of China not a region full of Chinese military, people and no-autonomous status. Hence it will be just right for Indiato question China's sovereignty on a non-autonomous Tibet.

Former diplomat T.C.A. Rangachari said China needed to be understood on a preferential basis. We have 60 years diplomatic relationship with China but refusal of a visa to an Indian General on the unundestandable premise of his being in control of a Kashmir region, which China recognises as 'disputed'. How can India accept this position?

Prof Srikanth Kondapalli, made a powerful powerpoint presentation to show as to how China is moving forward with a motive to encircle India. He said that since 1949 to 1963, China’s position on Kashmir was in favour of India but after that China favoured Pakistan. China has invested 20 billion $ (approx) in different hydro projects of POK, which shows the clear intention of China.

Brig (retd.) Gurmeet Kanwal, Director, CLAWS (Centre for Land Warfare Studies) pointed out that PLA calls the shots in Chinese governance and it has prepared a long term strategy. Accordingly the next war it would like to fight outside China, and that can be Arunachal Pradesh. He forcely said that in present situation there is a huge gap between Indian Army and PLA. Though presently its more quantitative but if we did not meet the strategic needs of Indian Army then after 15 years this difference will be also qualitative and unbridgeable.

Tarun Vijay, MP (Rajya Sabha), Director, Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee Research Foundation, said: “We gave Buddha to China, China give us Maoists”.

Shri Bala Saheb Apte, president of the Foundation and national vice president of BJP, welcomed the participants. Shri Arun Singh, Trustee of the Foundation, proposed a vote of thanks.

While giving Buddha we Hindus followers of Sanathana Dharama gave away our warrior attitude and nature also. So we where enslaved by Moguls for more than 5 centuries and later enslaved by British for more than 2 centuries.

In short they didn’t enslaved us but we allowed them to make us as their slave in the name of non-violence and peace loving peoples as preached and taught by our several leaders in the past and present. Our Kings used to invade other Kings but those invasions where more or less a cultural invasion but those invasion never destroyed our culture and traditional of our Bharathavarsh. Air marshal (retd) R K Nehra has written a book Hinduism & it’s Military Ethos. Completely brushing aside the long-held theories that Hindus are a tolerant and timid lot, the ex-defense man has argued vociferously, with facts and logic that Hinduism neither preaches tolerance to aggression, nor does it promote cowardice in the face of threats.

Today Buddha is having more prominence in our country among those who runs and cries for vote.

Why because Dr. Ambedkar the “Father Of Our Constitution” adopted Buddhism to get rid of castes’ system which was followed and preached in Hinduism

“Praise Buddha & get vote” Or “Praise Dr. Ambedkar & get vote”
“Follow Buddha & get Quota” Or “Follow Dr. Ambedkar & get Quota”

So today in modern India Buddha & Dr. Ambedkar must be credited with the Title as “Father Of Vote Bank”.

From Air Marshal (R) R K Nehra:
I disagree with almost everything that is recorded as having been said at the seminar. India & its military faces issues of most fundamental nature which have kept us in chains for centuries on end. These are mostly related to the defeatist Bhartiya (Hindu) mindset and are not going to go away by high sounding words/sentiments at seminars. Starting 200 BC, for 2000 years, we could not stop any invader who wanted to drop in to enslave us, or loot & humiliate us. I have discussed the issues threadbare in my book 'Hinduism & its Military Ethos'. Please do try to read it.

Discussions in the Seminar are mis-placed, and amount to barking up the wrong tree. Bharat faces issues of most fundamental nature, which I have articulated in my book 'Hinduism & its Military Ethos' (Lancers). The book has been called "fantastic" by the weekly 'Organizer' in its issue of Aug 15. These issues relate to almost unending Hindu Slavery for centuries. Those issues are not going to go away by high sounding words, or expressing pious intention at seminars. Please DO try to read my book.
