Arunachal delegation led by Tarun Vijay, MP meets Delhi Police Commissioner -demands arrest of the culprits
Make Delhi safe for NE youths- why silence on North east agony? Asks Tarun Vijay
31st January 2014- New Delhi-- Delhi is becoming unsafe for NE, said Mr Tarun Vijay, MP (BJP)who led an Arunachal student leaders' delegation, along with his son Ritwik to insist that anything happening to Arunachal is Indian Family matter, to meet Delhi Police Commissioner Mr Bassi and express anguish at the slow progress regarding the sad and tragic death of a 19 year old Arunachal student Nido.
Mr. Bassi assured that already an FIR has been registered against the culprits under section 302 and soon they will have the proceedings moved against them as soon as the post mortem report arrives. Mr Tarun Vijay said that Delhi is becoming increasingly unsafe for the youth from North east and there is a pattern that shows a prejudice and colored opinion.Delhi citizens and police will have to do a lot to assure that entire Indian stands with our NE brothers and sisters and in this grief they are not alone but entire India is behind them.
As per media reports, A student from Arunachal Pradesh allegedly died after he was beaten with sticks in South Delhi's Lajpat Nagar area on Wednesday.
Nido Taniam had reportedly gone to Lajpat Nagar on January 29 in search of an address, and was allegedly mocked by someone at a shop for the style of his hair.
Taniam, in a fit of rage, broke a glass at the shop, upon which he was allegedly beaten by people.

He also s demanded action against policemen who tried to have an unjustifiable compromise with shopkeepers in order to safeguard them and didn't bother to take the student to hospital for medical care, Tarun Vijay demanded.

There will be a candle light prayer meeting at Lajpat Nagar, tomorrow at 2 pm, as per the Arunachal students Union decision, where the young boy was brutally beaten up that resulted in his death.
The delegation consisted of Mr J.T . Tagam, immdt past president of Arunachal Students Union Delhi (ASUD), Mr Taba Doni, General Secy, (ASUD), Mr Yeshi W. Kharma , Vice President , ASUD and Mr Ritwik Vijay, student and son of Mr Tarun Vijay.
